LE Tonglet, Kenny Koretsky pick up impressive jewelry at Pomona

LE Tonglet and Kenny Koretsky returned Sunday to Auto Club Raceway at Pomona to collect large, diamond-studded rings signifying Tonglet’s NHRA Pro Stock Motorcycle championship.

The track is where Tonglet clinched the title with a quarter-final round win in November.  That provided the deciding points in the title tussle with Andrew Hines.

“It is awesome,” Tonglet said of the flashy ring.  “When I put it on, it just all started to hit me . . . that I won the championship. It’s one of the happiest days of my life.”

Tonglet will be on board the Team Tonglet Nitro Fish Suzuki he drove to the title and his dad Gary and brother GT will again be doing the tuning when the Pro Stock Motorcycle season begins at Gainesville, Fla., March 11-13.

Having found a winning combination, the Tonglets hope to emulate it this time around.

“We are going to do our best this year,” LE commented.  “We just want to go out and have fun like we did last year, and if another ring comes, then it comes.  It’s just one of those things.

“The championship came from all the work that we did since I started riding when I was 14. All of the practice, all of the other events that we went to that really helped us get this big ring and the championship.”
