GENUINE 427 SHELBY COBRA AT 40TH ANNIVERSARY BARRETT-JACKSON

PLANET COBRA TO SELL GENUINE 427 SHELBY COBRA AT 40TH ANNIVERSARY BARRETT-JACKSON SCOTTSDALE AUCTION

Stephen Becker, president and CEO of Planet Cobra and the largest volume Shelby Cobra dealer in the world, will auction Shelby Cobra CSX4779 (VIN #4779) featuring an aluminum 427 engine at the 40th Annual Barrett-Jackson Collector Car Auction in Scottsdale.  The rare, big-block Cobra (Lot #1264.1) is set to cross the stage on Saturday, Jan. 22, during the live broadcast of SPEED.  Planet Cobra sells authentic, new and collector Shelby Cobras to clients internationally, as well as supports Shelby parts and restoration programs for enthusiasts and collectors worldwide.

“The modern incarnation of Carroll Shelby’s ultimate weapon, the Shelby Cobra 427, retains the overwhelming performance of the original while employing modern materials and construction techniques,” said Becker.  “There are not any new CSX4000 cars available today and very few pre-owned ones become available.  This makes CSX4779 a rare, treasured collectible that will capture the attention of most automotive enthusiasts attending the auction.”

CSX4779 is LeMans Blue with Wimbledon White LeMans stripes.  It is equipped with an all aluminum engine, robust manual transmission, independent front and rear suspension and four wheel disc brakes.  CSX4779 includes the original MSO signed personally by Carroll Shelby.

Highlights include:
•    LeMans Blue fiberglass body and black interior
•    It is fully loaded with all factory available options including leather interior, etc.
•    Powered by the famous 427 c.i.d. engine that produces an estimated 455 horsepower
•    5-speed transmission
•    Independent front and rear suspension
•    4-wheel disc brakes

“With only 2,400 miles on the car and one owner, the CSX4779 will be one of the most highly prized cars at the Barrett-Jackson auction in Scottsdale,” added Becker.  “It’s appropriate to sell one of the most iconic cars in the world at one of the most celebrated car auctions in the world, especially during their big 40th celebration.”
