Welcome to the "School of Hot Rod" multi-media blog

Welcome to the School of Hot Rod blog.
First things first, a introduction and some background on myself.

Born in 1970 and growing up in a Portland suburb of what is known as Mount Tabor. I soon began my automotive career that would set my life in motion and head down a road into the realms of automotive passion. Born an automotive fanatic and graduating in 1989, soon after that I attained ASE certification and began working with local automotive refinishing programs. However, racing is where I would ultimately find my dreams of glory.

My driving career has had its ups and downs, but few other drivers can claim to have driven at Road America,SIR, Portland International Raceway, Laguna Seca, G.A.S.S. Series and Watkins Glen on top of multiple driving experiences with professionals as each year new cars are released to the public. And while road and dirt racing track speeds are impressive, I can boast of having been part in the first funny car team to hit 300 mph - in the NHRA.

In the early 90’s, I moved into the automotive retail world while fitting into the role of team leader and manager for area dealerships. The late 90’sbrought with it yet another position and title when I took the reins to become the lead journalist in the Pacific Northwest largest alternative newspapers newly formed automotive section. From there my automotive review career only blossomed. After heading the automotive department for a 17 newspaper conglomerate group, my voice was headed in a different direction: Radio. Vaulting forward on the success of my print reviews, I felt I was a natural for the open microphone. Hosting and co-hosting no only three of my own programs but taking part in the largest morning and afternoon programs in my regions. It was time to take it to the small screen.

In early parts of this century, I joined up with others where I developed and ran a television team using the active programming that I alone designed. In 2006 I moved into the network division at the now debunked CW and in 2008, I promoted my show to the Comcast Sportsnet Network where SRTV Speed and Racing Television was seen on over 50 television stations around the Pacific Northwest.

I am now been blessed with the opportunity to work on the 2010 re-launch of “School of Hot Rod” and is currently in the role of host of what will surly be the largest and highly anticipated automotive multimedia of it’s time. With the backing of the Entertainment Radio Network and the resources of their assembled dream team – This experience will bring back the fun and excitement of automotive radio and bring back the return of pure car-guy mentality - that feel, love and passion for all things automotive. You want to hear car scoop from a true “car guy” then “School of Hot Rod” is your outlet.

Until next time,

Dennis
